In 1982-99 years, Japanese cosmetic companies advanced the management reform due to change in the business environment. In this paper, I attempt to elucidate SHISEIDO`s market segmentation strategy during the management reform period that the company developed what kind of new product strategy for various demand layers, taken up as a case hair care products and men cosmetics among the cosmetics which are core products of the company. In previous studies, these are described that Japanese cosmetic companies developed market segmentation strategy by the type brand corresponding to a channel since the 1980s, but the results of this study, and even if I limited to two uses of hair care products and men cosmetics, it became clear to have developed the market segmentation strategy by the new products centering on specific function appealing new product type by the type brand corresponding to a non-channel which does not limit a channel.

A great deal of recent researches focuses on open innovation for industry. Some of these describe public supporting organizations and independent agents to promote open innovation for companies. While these cases present general functions and roles of these organizations, there have been few studies focusing on the functions, roles and characteristics of such agents both outside and inside the company. This research aims to analyze and clarify the roles of such innovation-promoting organizations established by companies and investigate their strategy for successful open innovation. In this paper, we investigated the case of a Japanese cosmetic company, which has established a group company as an innovation-promoting organization, and discovered the following characteristics, functions, and roles which are necessary for an organization that promotes open innovation: outside agents which closely support the top management, flexibility, entrepreneur credentials, wide and deep support for specific projects, provision of venues for discussions between the members of the project group.

This paper presents the scenario that enables to apply the method for production planning and scheduling to various business solutions toward production innovation in common. The fundamental way of thinking consists of the followings: (1) Modularization of production management technology .i.e. breakaway from the conventional functional explosion of planning; (2) Unification of various heterogeneous decision features and of various decision operations in planning .i.e. formulation of the whole of the problem into a unified model with objective function and constraints by use of 0-1 variables denoting the states of the ternary relations of item to be processed, machine to be used, and timeslot of processing; (3) Global optimization .i.e. to solve the unified optimization model in terms of 0-1 variables using the decomposition coordination method; (4) Utilization of general versatility of the model for not only planning and scheduling but also plant simulation, management simulation, enterprise diagnosis, and so on. The paper also clarifies that global optimization by unified model with high resolution has various complementarities effects among system elements.

The global competitiveness of our country is declining with entry to developing countries' market economy.

It is in the situation where the thinking to cost from quality has become strong in connection with it, and the overseas shift of the production site is progressing as a result.

Under such a situation, it looked back upon developing countries' (especially Southeast Asia, ASEAN) the present condition, trend, and subject currently faced, and considered the deployment method of the overseas of future Japanese production management.

There is a fear that IT in it’s current state isn’t being effectively used when the purpose of IT utilization is limited to "Automation and labor saving" or "Rationalization and standardization". It is necessary to change the purpose of utilization based on the assessment guidelines advocated in the 1970's and 1980's by the ISO.

This paper explains the problem of limiting the purpose of IT utilization to "Automation and labor saving" or "Rationalization and standardization". Next, it is proposed that a manufacturing business should utilize IT for the following 3 purposes: the first is to identify the facts of the business as it is, the second is to support mutual understanding, and the final purpose is to aim for value creation. To realize these three purposes, a new information system that supports a manufacturing business is necessary. Some cases that use the master data managing engine and production simulator developed by the authors demonstrate a way to achieve effective IT utilization.

In the present age, Standardization to develop a production system newly is late. The reason is because they develop it using a certain knowledge in the head of the engineer. Therefore the ability of a developed production system becomes excessive; and or become too little. When ability becomes excessive, become the excessive quality; increase cost again. The problem that is not quality assurance happens when ability is the small. Or the problem that production time is not enough for happens.

By the first report of this article, The author provides the basics of production system development. In other words, I suggest it what the author should be based on. And I report the route that how should be able to advance.

It is first to clarify production system structure to enable this. Second it is to do the ability of the production system appropriately. Finally a work design to solve QCD problem at the same time is pointed.

Low price competitions have influenced not only goods products but also service products in a negative way to make profits. In this paper, high value-added services that are not affected by low price competitions were dealt with. To be more precise, an analytical perspective toward high value-added services were discussed based on researching previous studies about service marketing and implementing the case study regarding premium service of airline companies. As a result, a price and cost-effectiveness of high value-added services, a ratio of high value-added services, and a factor and a degree of high value-added are clarified as important analytical perspectives toward high value-added services.

Bread maker has always repeated creation and change for demand creation. For example, a maker manufactures and sells local limited product besides a regular product, and promotes brand awareness product development. In this paper, I studied the product development and distribution for the "Salt vanilla whip sand" developed by the Kyushu area limitation to the case as a private brand product in connection with Lawson first opening a shop to Kumamoto Kamiamakusa city. Two major research approaches were developed to be applied in studies of outsourcing: the Transaction Cost Economics (TCE) and the Resource-based View (RBV) of the firm. However, each approach has been developed separately, and it is hard to say that the accumulation of empirical research based on those two viewpoints is much enough. This paper investigates the factors that influence the motives of make-or-buy decisions on information systems from the viewpoints of TCE and RBV. Therefore, using our original questionnaire survey data carried out in 2007 targeting Japanese firms, we analyze the relationships between the recognition related to the role of their information systems and their make-or-buy decisions. As a result, we make it clear that there are two cases in which TCE motives and RBV motives complement or contradict with each other. And the implications for theory and practice are discussed.

In the LSI (Large-Scale Integration) plant the production procedure is very individualistic due to its cycle containing hundreds of long processes that must be circulated numerous times. Its work process is so complicated that it is very difficult to manage its production flow compared with that of other industries. In their golden age, before the early 1990’s, Japanese IDMs (Integrated Device Manufacturers) developed production management information systems themselves and determined a method or way in which to conquer these problems. Those things could therefore be thought of as one of the barriers to entry of the IC (specifically LSI) industry. In the latter half of the 1990’s, the appearance and spread of the semiconductor MES (Manufacturing Execution System) software, especially overseas, may have become a trigger for success for the newly established Taiwanese foundries, their new business model causing great leaps of amelioration. To deepen this discussion it is necessary to know the particularity in managing the work progress in the LSI plant, especially before the semiconductor MES software appeared and spread. However, these particularities are so difficult to concretely express that it seems they are not well known throughout the world. In this paper I would like to reveal the particularity, complexity and difficulty regarding the production control in the LSI plant in the days of their golden age, thus making it the foundation for further debate.

The safety measures greeted time of the further innovation, too. The loss (human life, damage expense) by labor accident of our country has been largely reduced after approximately 40 years from a peak, but great disaster becomes the big social problem with ceasing to fall in the late years. Technical tradition by the retirement of the lump of earth generation becomes insufficient, and the deterioration of facilities becomes the problem again in terms of human resource, too. On the other hand, it is apparent even if it watches a recent example that the company which neglected security bears a vast loss. The company carries out genuine "safety measures", and it is necessary to lay emphasis on the making of person who can notice danger. In addition, I consider the figure which there should be of the security while watching problems and the measures of the recent accident example based on being the basic factor that security increases by profit.

In B-to-B sales of industry goods, we need to change conventional sales methods which are focused on “how to sell goods or services” to ”how to find and solve customers’ problems”. However, many small and medium-sized enterprises stick to the conventional methods.

In order to change the sales methods and implement them, we need to collect customers’ information and educate sales representatives about skills of asking questions.

In this study, I applies coaching skills of “Actively listening” and “Asking Questions” to find customers’ problems and consider logical methods of Listening in sales.

Future, in Japan, it is expected that the IFRS No.15 affect the accounting standards and accounting practices.

In this paper, first, I mentioned the idea of revenue recognition in IFRS No.15.Then, I pointed out the impact on business management in revenue recognition on agent transaction, product warranty, customer loyalty program, and nonrefundable admission fee.

Accounting treatment of revenue recognition is closely related to the business management processes, such as products and service delivery process to customers, resource management and risk management. In this sense, it is intended to lead to the management's stance that apply for management reforms the IFRS financial information for representing the business conditions of companies enhance the effect of the application of IFRS.

iPad, which is a tablet computer, was released by Apple in May 2010. Then, iPad mini, which was a miniaturized iPad, was released. Next, iPad Air and Retina display model iPad mini (called iPad mini 2) , which had a high resolution display, was released in 2013.

This purpose of this paper is to study of actual conditions and cases of improving business efficiency using iPad.

First, we made a secret group, which was able to see by only permitted users, on Facebook. Truck drivers wrote their working, such as Loading, Driving, Unloading, Intermission and Nap, with their location information on the wall in Facebook using iPad. When they could see their location point in location-based information on their wall, they chose it, but when they could not see it, they wrote their location point by themselves.

Next, we made a database for working time management using FileMaker, which was possible to use easy, because of improving business efficiency for working time management.

As a result, a manager could be used to predict the arrival time of the baggage, return time of the truck using iPad, Facebook, and location-based service. Also, comments on the wall was displayed in time series, so a manager could check drivers actions easily. Moreover, a manager could aggregate drivers working time using iPad and FileMaker, in a shorter time than before.

On the other hand, this method was difficult for aged drivers, and sometimes input wrong data. In a further study, we will make an easier method than this method for each trucking companies.
