Abstract
A total of 71 patients with chronic sinusitis has been treated with EMPYNASE by a dose of three capsules daily for a consecutive 30 days, thus the efficacy of this drug has been studied objectively as well as subjectively.
Conclusions drawn from present study can be summarized as marked improvement in 24.5%, improvement in 36.6%, slight improvement in 22.5% and fail in 15.5%.
It has been noticed that in not a few cases, patients expressed alleviation of the symptoms during the course of treatment without any associating evidence of objective improvement.
In caseinolytic study however, activity of the enzyme in the diseased antral mucosa indicated no appreciable difference with the ones in the control group.
