Recently, electromagnetic analysis techniques have come into wide use and have become powerful tools for equipment design thanks to performance upgrades in computer technology. Users of these techniques deal with electromagnetic analysis as “black boxes." However, minimum knowledge relating to “black boxes" is required in order to prevent belief in incorrect results of the electromagnetic analysis. Therefore, in this basic course, the finite element method (FEM) and the boundary element method (BEM), which are the typical methods of electromagnetic field analysis, are described. Additionally, we show that the superconducting characteristic is built into these methods. This time, we describe the governing equation of electromagnetic analysis and the interpolation of the electromagnetic field in the discretization space.
