The use of video tape recorders to observe the teaching/learning process has increased and diversified in order to analyze methodology. We developed on instructional improvement using multi-angled video method. Our hypothesis was that viewpoints of classroom observation are connected with viewer's perspective of the teaching/learning process. Further more, teachers can reevaluate their teaching methodologies by using a multi-angled video recording. Our intention for this study is to test our hypothesis through the life environment studies multi-angled video recordings. The unit entitled, "AMAGAPPA WO TSUKUROU," of second grade class at an elementary school in AICH prefecture was recorded from four different camera positions composed by multi-angled video footage. As a result, our instructional improvement system using multi-angled video method proved effective for observing viewpoints of classroom interaction.

Laos, located in Indo-China Peninsula, is a small country with the population of 4,830,000, often neglected and is hardly known to the rest of world. For this country, however, Japan has been a top donor whose aid in the field of human resource development will make the relationship between both countries tighter in the future. In this paper, I will report on "media and education" in Laos, in comparison with that in Thailand, based on research done in Vientiane, the capital of Laos. Laos has a big problem in education; the literacy rate is only 58% in this country and you will find that Laos has very few schools and teachers, especially in rural areas. Because of these circumstances, media, in place of schools and teachers, is expected to play a key role by providing high-quality educational programs to Lao citizens. According to the media survey conducted in Vientiane, people watch Lao National Television more than I had expected and is commonly believed. In terms of quality, on the other hand, Lao people think that domestic programs are inferior to Thai programs.

Since 1998, the School Broadcasting Program Department of NHK has been carrying out a practical study on developing and broadcasting programs and on Web sites to integrate broadcasts and communication technologies. In fiscal year 1999, it launched "Encyclopedia of Global Foods," which is a comprehensive learning program designed to promote international understanding. This program comprises two sections: "Experience Section," which relates to emotional elements as thought to be important, and "Data Section," which refers to reference data as important. It is necessary to clarify what kings of lecture design and reports are effective as Web information in this kind of program. Four proposals have been presented as Web information, of which one was presented by our group. In this research, the lecture design is assisted and promoted by free activities of young teachers and students, who wish to become a teacher, and who analyze programs rather than detailed plans or reports. Reports, which show the process and the reasons for changing activities in a visible form, assist in redesigning lectures.

Health education in primary school was conducted with the use of multimedia materials developed by the authors to find out its effects in motivation of learning and expansion of learning environment according to the pupils' attitudes defined. The multimedia materials were developed with special emphasis on the basic idea proposed by V. Bush, "as we may think," embedding into the materials with several kinds of graphics, movies and texts on smoking, drinking and drugs. The results show that those who like to learning with computers get more advantage from multimedia and at the same time they could expand their learning environment with the multimedia developed much more than those who had less experience with computers. In addition to these findings, the authors are proposing such profound analysis as the document organization methods in the multimedia materials and the correlationship between two classes in the normal classroom settings.
