The present author is now a professor of the university; however, he was formerly an engineer (research fellow) of Asahi Kasei, which is one of the biggest chemical companies in Japan. In this paper, the author introduces some new innovative industrial manufacturing technologies, which were developed at Asahi Kasei. Some of them were developed by the author and some of them were developed by the author’s colleagues. The author briefly describes these technologies. Death Valley, which lies between R & D (research and development) and industrialization, is thought to be very difficult to overcome. Even though the business, which was realized by overcoming Death Valley, is thought to be very difficult to be globally competitive and maintain a good business position for a long time. It is very important for Japan to maintain businesses, which were born from the technologies that originated in Japan, in order to be globally competitive.
