Abstract
HCCI combustion model has been constructed for development of switching strategy from SI to HCCI. An engine test indicated the differences of heat release between steady and transient on HCCI operation. It analyzed with CFD and chemical kinetics calculation that the change of heat release derives from the wall heat transfer. In-cylinder space is divided into three zones so that the combustion end timing might be characterized from a state transition in a low temperature region near the chamber wall.
