Abstract
It is well known that a lot of neutral active species such as N atom and metastable molecules are generated by discharge. It is also well known that some of those species have a long life time and have a high potential energy. Accordingly various influences on dielectric properties are observed in the case that neutral active species remain and accumulate in space. This letter presents that neutral active species make the breakdown probability and its time lag decrease in nitrogen gas.
