With the presumption that ultraviolet absorbers might show a preventive action on the oxidation of vitamin A, investigations were made with six samples of ultraviolet absorbers synthesized by the authors, such as benzalacetophenone. In experiments made under ultraviolet rays, the fluorescent lamp and the room light no antioxidative action could be found with all the samples.
