Abstract
We report a case of an intravascular papillary endothelial hyperplasia (IPEH) in the alveolar mucosa, which is considered a rare benign non-neoplastic lesion. A 56-year-old woman was referred to our outpatient clinic with swelling of the alveolar mucosa of the mandible. She had received an apicoectomy on the mandibular right lateral incisor one and half years ago. Physical examination revealed a movable dark purple nodule that was identified in the alveolar mucosa of the mandibular right lateral incisor region. The lesion was excised under local anesthesia and diagnosed as an IPEH based on histopathological examination. The postoperative course of the lesion was uneventful without recurrence for approximately 6 months
