Abstract
The double-layered perovskite YBaCuFeO5 undergoes a commensurate to incommensurate magnetic transition at about TN2~175 K. Distinguishing the contributions of both Fe3+/Cu2+ to the magnetic structures is crucial for the further understanding of the magnetoelectric coupling and the physical properties of YBCFO. Using RIXS on BL12XU, we observed an excitation peak at the pre-edge of Fe K-edge at room temperature.
