The microstructure and mechanical properties were examined in friction stir welded Zr-base metallic glass. Any crystalline was not formed in the stir zone, which resulted in no increase in hardness in the stir zone. Tensile test specimens were fractured in the stir zone due to defects. The tensile strength was about 40 % of base material.
