Development of a highly accurate prediction method for LOC is being carried out through CAE and experimental verification. Since 3 piece type oil control ring significantly effects on LOC, in this paper, lubricating oil behavior around the 3 piece oil control ring was estimated. The calculation results of lubricating oil behavior were showed qualitative agreement with the experimental data at engine operating conditions. Thus efficacy of oil behavior prediction method was confirmed.
