Abstract
This paper deals with Nagasaki Prefecture that seem to be typical districts of drought damage in Western Japan in 1967, and is consisted of geological and geomorphological studies on the mechanism of occurrence of drought camage, and studies were made mainly by the efficient use of paddy rice data.
In this district the mechanism of occurrence of drought damage is made clear, and it is posible to divide locally the danger degree of drought damage, and further to point out the direction of its prevention.
In this district the drought damage is related to the tectonic geological conditions that control the state of water held by soil.
