Abstract
In economic, social, management or diagnostic problems, we have important probles to deal with discrimination of objects with fuzzy data in a fuzzy environment. In the real world, attributes of objects have vagueness and amgiguity. This paper discusses the method to discriminate between fuzzy groups based upon fuzzy multivariate data. For this purpose, the concept of generalized distance is defined by a mean and a variance of fuzzy numbers in a fuzzy group.By the generalized distance the distance between a sample and each fuzzy group can be measured to assign a sample to one of fuzzy groups.
