Global demand for energy saving drives luminaire development aiming at reducing power consumption whilst maintaining a comfortable lighting environment. Solid state devices like LEDs are rapidly replacing fluorescent lamps as a main lighting sources. Also, new sensing technology has been developed in addition to the conventional human presence sensors and illumination sensors. It is important to combine these sensors and lighting control technology, not just for energy savings but also to provide a comfortable office environment.
