Abstract
This study clarifies the characteristics of the revitalization projects in which the private sectors participate. The projects are categorized into three types based on the reasons for business entry: (1) locally-based type, which the sectors join in housing estate regeneration due to their regional connection, (2) new entry type, which the sectors try to begin the business in the housing estates and contribute to the revitalization and (3) responsibility-based type, which the developers join in housing estate regeneration with the responsibility. Suitable projects are selected for each type. Through the interview survey to the stakeholders participating in the projects and analysis on the collected data, a distribution map of the projects is created. The results reveal that in type (1), the government is heavily involved, and the projects are distributed regardless of the size of the issue. In type (2), the projects are gradually transferring the initiative to the private sector and work on the specific issues. In type (3), the various projects are implemented by the sectors based on the master plan for the revitalization, enabling comprehensive problems to solve through collaboration.
