Abstract
It is necessary toward recycling based society that resource consumption is fulfilled by utilizing regional biomass as much as possible. In this study, the two phase of regional biomass utilization levels are assumed; 1) allowing the biomass input and accepts it as a driving force for the realization of the recycling based society, 2) allowing the maximum biomass production from the farmland within the region. Effect of cascade utilization of waste biomass was demonstrated (phase 1) and limitation of self-sufficiency by maximum biomass production was showed (phase 2). However cascade utilization can bring this limit higher, so the hypothesis “recycling based society will be realized with foundation of cascade utilization of maximum biomass” was brought out.
