Abstract
The following results were derived from this study. Firstly, eight VOCs in rural sewage treatment plant were found. Two VOCs, dibromochloromethane and bromoform among them, which are main components of trihalomethane, fluctuated in same way with time and showed the good co-relation. Secondly, chloroform showed higher value shortly after inputting chlorine to disinfect Escherichia coli and smaller value with time. Finally, rural sewage treatment plant could remove six VOCs except chloroform and toluene. Especially dibromochloromethane and bromoform were almost removed.
