Abstract
The objective of this paper is to clarify distribution and location of paddy field using the digital national land information for evaluating ecological functions. As a result of paddy field distribution nationally, it was proven that paddy field on steep slope was being concentrated for the location where the geological age is old, though many on moderate slope within the range from 3° to 13° were widely distributed. In the case regions, location of paddy fields on slope was divided into two types, namely convergent slope where the water utilization is good, and divergent slope where the water utilization is bad. In conclusion, each paddy field type was discussed as view of ecological function, the function was considered to be greatly differed between each type.
