Abstract
This study classifies rural development programs in Bangladesh since East Pakistan period into four varieties, community approach, target approach, coordination at Union approach and mass approach. And then this study refers to the characteristic of each rural development program, and puts the stream of Bangladesh's rural development policy and its problems in order. Lastly, we suggest some reform measures in rural development policy in Bangladesh as follows, firstly, reformation of the administrative foundation of Union Parishad, secondly, effective use of natural village“samaj”in establishing village organization, and reconsideration of the urban-bias budget allocation.
