Abstract
This paper proposes simplified methods for determing the exciting forces of various equipment, under field conditions where they are so installed. The present study addresses two simplified methods for computing exciting forces (1) a frame method (the vibration acceleration exerted on a vibration-damping table is used to calculate the exciting force (2) a directmounting method (the vibration' acceleration observred on the floor to which the equipment is directly mounted is used to calculate the exciting force The exciting forces calculated by the direct-mounting method showed close agreement with those obtained by the direct method reported in the previous paper which employed a fan. The exciting forces computed by the frame method were greater than those obtained by the direct method at high frequencies, but a fairly close agreement was obtained by. correction for the mass of the equipment.
