Abstract

This paper constructed a model to describe nursery choice behavior by considering multiple factors such as the distance from a residential area to a nursery, the facility type, and the density of nurseries. The model was validated by comparing the actual and estimated number of children who commuted between the areas in Adachi Ward. Next, four indices for evaluating local childcare facility planning were proposed, and the simulation to calculate those indices using the model was demonstrated in Yokohama City. Furthermore, 100-meter square grids were classified into six groups using the k-means++ method based on the values of those indices.
